Soulcalibur II [9] is a 2002 arcade fighting video game developed by Project Soul and published by Namco.It is the third installment in the Soulcalibur series of weapon-based fighting games as the sequel to Soulcalibur (1998).
2002's Soulcalibur II further improves and expands on the Soulcalibur original, in both graphics and gameplay. Soulcalibur II was released in arcade format three years after the previous release in the series, and was subsequently ported to all three active sixth-generation consoles.
Starting with Soulcalibur II, guest characters from other franchises or companies were introduced for different home ports of the game, with The Legend of Zelda ' s Link appearing for the GameCube version, comic book character Spawn for the Xbox, and Tekken ' s Heihachi Mishima for the PlayStation 2.
