Toph Beifong (Chinese: 北方拓芙; pinyin: Běifāng Tuòfú) is a fictional character in Nickelodeon's animated television series Avatar: The Last Airbender and The Legend of Korra, voiced by Michaela Jill Murphy in the original series and Kate Higgins as an adult and Philece Sampler as an elder in the sequel series.
Zuko and Azula travel with Aang, Katara, and Sokka to Hira'a. On the journey, Zuko tries to be more compassionate towards Azula, who suffers from erratic behavior and hallucinations following her mental breakdown. Zuko discovers the letter from Ursa stating that Zuko is Ikem's son, and begins to doubt if he is the rightful Fire Lord.

Later that night, Jet offers Zuko a permanent spot on the Freedom Fighters, but Zuko refuses as he wants to start a new life with Iroh. Aang and his friends alongside Than, his sister, Ying, and Suki, begin to cross the Serpent's Pass. When a rock begins to fall on Suki, Sokka pushes her out of the way and is only saved by Toph's earthbending.
Sozin knew that the next Avatar would be an Air Nomad, leading to the destruction of the Air Temples, but found that Aang had eluded him. Confronting Iroh in his prison cell, Zuko learns that Avatar Roku was his mother's grandfather, symbolizing the battle of evil and good within Zuko to cleanse the sins of their family.
The series then primarily follows the adventures of Aang and his companions Katara, Sokka, Appa, Momo, and later Toph, as he tries to master all four elements and defeat the Fire Nation. There is also a strong focus on Zuko, the banished and disinherited crown prince of the Fire Nation, who is accompanied by his uncle Iroh.
The six eventually work together to corner Azula. As Iroh notices Toph is part of the Avatar's group, Azula strikes him with a lightning strike leading to her being attacked by Sokka, Aang, Katara, Toph, and Zuko. In the aftermath, Azula is nowhere to be found and Zuko furiously forces everyone away, refusing help for Iroh from Katara.
