The Tenmile Range is a mountain range in U.S. state of Colorado. The range is an extension of the Mosquito Range which is part of the Rocky Mountains. The two ranges are effectively the same range. They are split only by the Continental Divide and name. The Tenmile Range is on the north side of the divide, and the Mosquito on the south.
Peak One is set 15 miles (24 km) west of the Continental Divide at the northern end of the Tenmile Range which is a subrange of the Rocky Mountains. [5] The mountain is located 2.5 miles (4.0 km) south of the community of Frisco, [4] and is set on land managed by Arapaho National Forest. [2]
Ski Hesperus opened in 1962. It has operated off and on over the years, and was open every season from 2006 to 2023. [1] On December 27 2023, Ski Hesperus announced its closure for the remainder of the 2023-24 season due to a mechanical issue with their sole double chair lift. [2]
