The Benito Juárez Autonomous University of Oaxaca [1] (Spanish: Universidad Autónoma Benito Juárez de Oaxaca, UABJO) is a public university located in the city of Oaxaca de Juárez in the state of Oaxaca, Mexico. The university was founded on January 8, 1827, as the Institute of Sciences and Arts of Oaxaca.
This was also the year Quintana Roo that was recognized as a state. At the time Benito Juarez was founded, it was part the Isla Mujeres territory and received municipality status one year later in 1975. [4] In 2016, the municipality of Puerto Morelos was split off from Benito Juárez.
