Unfortunately, as others have mentioned, APRI is garbage. Do as Keno's Mom said, and have your dog spayed, per your vet's recommendation.
As their name implies, they register pets. And shows, trials, etc. are for breeding quality dogs. The last straw was very recently when I learned my first APRI male was originally from a pet shop!!!!!!! Although, I shouldn't have been so shocked, because the ONLY breeders who first began using APRI were large scale commercial breeders who sold ...
APRI - AMERICA'S PET REGISTRY INC. Advertises free registration for commercial breeders. Non Profit 'dedicated to the preservation of the professional pet industry', dogs and cats. I just purchased an APRI shiba puppy. She's registered with America's Pet Registry, Inc. Both of her parents come from a champion bloodlines. Can I get her registered with AKC. What's a difference between the 2? Is AKC more reputable?

APBR is a bogus registry. If NKC is bogus then APBR must be, a registry which registers any dog that you send in the money so that you can increase the value of your dogs and their pups. Sounds like it is for puppy milling to me. There is still other Pit registries if you wish to list them.
although mistakes with the AKC do happen, it is far easier for puppy millers to register dogs with pet registries such as APRI (another crap registry) and ACA. In some instances, these millers even get a discount for registering mass ammounts of dogs (imagine a Sam's club discount for puppy mills!)
I'm thinking your dog won't be show quailty or breeding quality. Since you asked about AKC registration, we'll stick to that. You can only register your pup with the AKC if the breeder registers the litter AND provided/provides you with the proper forms ("AKC papers"). You then complete the forms, pay the fee, and you get your AKC registration.
For Cane Corso the ICCF is a superior registry compared to AKC. The AKC is limited on records access and cannot access ICCF records. The ICCF shows titles which prove confirmation in the Cane Corso from other countries. many top quality Corso's are imported from Italy and Europe and the standard is the countries individual registry and the ICCF.
