Regina Encarnacion Ansong Velasquez (/ r ɪ ˈ dʒ iː n v ɛ ˈ l æ s k ɛ z / rij-EEN vel-ASK-ez; born April 22, 1970) is a Filipino singer and actress.She is considered one of the most influential figures in Philippine popular culture and is known for her vocal range and belting technique.

Filipino entertainer Regine Velasquez has appeared in motion pictures and television programs. She made her screen debut with a minor role in the 1988 comedy film The Untouchable Family . [ 1 ] She went on to appear in supporting roles in the comedies Pik Pak Boom (1988) and Elvis and James 2 (1990).
The special opened with Velasquez welcoming her viewers to the first Sunday night of the new millennium. She briefly talked about conceptualizing her album R2K or sometimes called Regine 2000, with the title borrowed from the numeronym Y2K. At that point, it transitioned to the music video premiere of the track "MacArthur Park".
Regine Velasquez started singing at age six, [1] and had unorthodox voice training with her father, where she was immersed neck-deep in the sea and would go through vocal runs. [ 2 ] [ 3 ] She credits this method for strengthening her core and stomach muscles , and developing her lung capacity . [ 4 ]
The film stars Donna Cruz, Regine Velasquez, and Mikee Cojuangco. The movie is considered to be the most successful Filipino musical comedy of all time. The film's title is a play between the solfège and a portmanteau using the first two letters of Donna, Regine and Mikee's first names. [1] [2] [3]
