Andrew Daulton Lee (January 3, 1952) is a former drug dealer who was convicted of espionage for his involvement in the Cold War spying activities of his childhood friend, Christopher Boyce. [1] [2] [3] Lee was the adopted eldest son of Dr. Daulton Lee, a wealthy California physician, and graduated from Palos Verdes High School in 1970.
According to Boyce, he studied aviation, not to flee to the Soviet Union as some suspected, but to rescue Daulton Lee from Lompoc. [15] On August 21, 1981, Boyce was arrested by U.S. Marshals while eating in his car outside "The Pit Stop", a drive-in restaurant in Port Angeles, Washington.
