The Sloan Research Fellowship is awarded annually by the Alfred P. Sloan Foundation to "provide support and recognition to early-career scientists and scholars". Beginning in 1955, Fellowships were initially awarded in physics, chemistry, and mathematics.
Here's my personal experience: I graduated from MIT Sloan Fellows program back in 2008 (at the age of 34), and still don't have a job 4 years later, and in I'm in 6 figure debt! I sent thousands of resumes, had a few interviews, but still nothing. My advice to self sponsored people stay away from MIT Sloan Fellows program.
