Robert William Clifford [2] (born May 2, 1937) is an American politician, lawyer and retired associate justice of the Maine Supreme Judicial Court. He was appointed to this position on August 1, 1986 by then-governor Joseph Brennan. He was reappointed to seven-year terms in 1993, 2000, and 2007. He retired in 2009. [3]
Murray was born and grew up on Maple Street in Bangor, Maine to Robert Emmett, Sr., and Laura Murray. [2] He earned a BA from Boston College in 1981 and a JD from the University of Maine School of Law in 1985. [1] His brother is Fr. Frank Murray and his sister Cynthia married Severin Beliveau. [2] His great uncle was Edward P. Murray. [2]
