The first BBC weather forecast was a shipping forecast, broadcast on the radio on behalf of the Met Office on 14 November 1922, and the first daily weather forecast was broadcast on 26 March 1923. In 1936, the BBC experimented with the world's first televised weather maps , brought into practice in 1949 after World War II .

Peter John Gibbs (born 1958) is a former BBC Weather forecaster, who appeared regularly on BBC News, BBC World News and BBC Radio, particularly BBC Radio Four. He previously worked on the BBC News at One, BBC News at Six, BBC News at Ten and BBC Breakfast. He left the BBC on 9 December 2016.
Derren Ronald Litten (born 21 December 1970) is an English comedy writer, actor and director, best known as the creator and writer of the sitcom Benidorm. [1] He co-wrote The Catherine Tate Show, in which he plays several characters in the first two series and the 2005 Christmas special.
On his return, King was assigned to BBC Weather in August 2008, [2] presenting across the entire BBC News output, as well as on BBC World. He still undertakes assignments for the RAF, and was deployed to Camp Bastion, Afghanistan in 2010. King's hobbies include snowboarding and wakeboarding.
He also produced in-depth features on weather-related subjects such as climate change. [ 1 ] He presented national and international weather forecasts at the BBC from late 2012 to late 2013, when he commenced studies at the Met Office College in Exeter to complete his training as a meteorologist.
