Years ago, I interviewed Finney and asked him about playing opposite Hepburn. No surprise. He was effusive in his praise of his co-star. Alan Arkin was also effusive in his praise of Hepburn. She, however, doubted her abilities. I think the film has great moments in it, and that the actors are at their very best, but the film never really comes ...

The movie stars Albert Finney as Sir and Tom Courtenay as The Dresser. The supporting cast includes Edward Fox, Zena Walker, Eileen Atkins, and Michael Gough. How can I get TCM to air this again? Should I bite the bullet and spend $40 on a damned DVD?

December 14, 2021 9:00 AM. The problem with Carol Burnett singing a song like "By The Time I Get to Phoenix" is that it is difficult to imagine her in a real sexual relationship. Unless it's with Julie Andrews. by Anonymous.

Seeing and hearing Bill and Hilary spread the same bullshit lies today they did in 1995. Jerry Lewis in The Nutty Professor. Loved my mom, but she could be fucking grouchy and mean, at times. My sister and I would hum the Bitch is Back song by Elton John when our mom was in a bad mood.

  8. So did Adrien Brody. Loved him in This is My Father starring our hirsute friend James Caan and and The Playboys with Albert Finney and Robin Wright, both on location in Ireland. "This is My Father" was written and directed by Aidan's brother Paul and photographed by his brother Declan.

Every adult cast member is great, too- Albert Finney, Carol Burnett, Tim Curry, Ann Reinking, Bernadette Peters, Geoffrey Holder, Roger Minami, Lois de Banzie, Peter Marshall, and Edward Herrmann as President Franklin D. Roosevelt. Every musical number is a show stopper. The film was after it's time.

The Oliver Reed from Gladiator does not compare to the Oliver Reed from The Devils. It is sad what alcohol can do to a very talented and aristocratic individual. Vanessa Redgrave as the hunchbacked nun still looks gorgeous. She was a divorced mother of two at this point in her career.

Brando was offered Lawrence first but turned it down. Eventually it looked like it would be Albert Finney in the wake of his Tom Jones success. Producer Sam Spiegel made a series of screen tests with him that cost over a hundred thousand of 1960s dollars. But Lean hated his performance and working with him on the tests.
