A pool of lava won't help against an iron golem, they get healed by fire. Apart from magic weapons like people said, there's a few things you can try. Paladins can use their smite to deal radiant damage for example, and other easily available damage types like cold, force, or thunder allow spellcasters to hurt them fairly well.
I have just started playing through Dark Souls for the first time, and to chronicle my journey through the game, I’m making each of its 22 bosses as a 5e monster. Each time I down a boss I’ll make a block! I'm increasing the CR by 1 for every boss I encounter, going from 4 all the way to 26.
Won't deal damage but very likely the golem will fail its saving throw and be forced to subtract a d6 from attacks and skill checks (Very important). Following turn, cast Tidal Wave to knock it prone if it fails a DEX save (with a -1, even at advantage chances are good it'll fail) then command the hand to grapple the golem.
Even a Clay golem is a pretty powerful ally equivalent to a level 14+ PC, a Iron golem is like having an extra level 20+ character in the group; So having it locked behind a big time and money requirement is very reasonable. If a player asked if they could have a golem RAW i would only make a golem manual available in 4th tier play.
Animating a snow golem requires a body made of fresh snow, 100g of materials, and 2 4th list spell slots. (Snow Golem stats are from "rime of the frostmaiden" module.) The Arcane Order does not explain the dangers of golem creation, and instead relies on its members learning by making a golem that goes berserk and attacks the creator.
Like most things in 5e, if its alone vs the party, it doesn't last long unless it it vastly more powerful than what the party can handle normally. If the golem rolls low on Ini I would be surprised it even gets a second turn.. Definitely give it some Legendary Actions and maybe even some uses of Legendary Resistance.
Example is an iron Golem. according to the manual the cost is 100000 gp in supplies needed but the quantity of iron (bases on the size stat for an iron golem) is 2 tons at maximum. iron costs 1 sp per pound so 2 tons would total 4000 sp or 400 gp. whats is the extra amount of gold used for?
I'm running my first game in 5e and I'm looking for help on clarifying the condition immunities for golems and constructs in 5e. My players came across a manual of golems and are dead set on making the Iron Golem they found inside. Here is my question. The condition immunities are listed as...
Love to hear your thoughts on the changes to these modded iron golems. The hell hound iron golems are essentially flesh golems with iron golem resistances and some extra abilities. Did I get the CRs right? Oh, and if you want a high level encounter involving them, find one here: Halls of Ezel Torm, area 16. All comments welcome.
Iron Golem and it's moved into a bonfire spell ... and ended it's turn there A creature takes damage the turn it enters the bonfire or if the spell was cast in their space. Then at the end of their turn, if they are still in the bonfire, they take damage again.
