In 1967, a new Shipwreck Point lighthouse was built slightly west of its original location, and its operation was automated. It is an octagonal tower, at a height of 13.5m. [7] It is one of only two concrete lighthouses on the Island. [7] The new Shipwreck Point lighthouse went into service on 27 September 1967.
