Sutomo (3 October 1920 – 7 October 1981), [1] also known as Bung Tomo (meaning Comrade or Brother Tomo), was an Indonesian revolutionary and military leader best known for his role in the Indonesian National Revolution against Dutch colonial rule.
Bung Tomo in Surabaya Sutomo was born in Kampung Blaran in central Surabaya to a clerk father, Kartawan Tjiptowidjojo, and mother of mixed Javanese , Sundanese and Madurese descent. he was forced to give up his education at the age of twelve because of family economic hardship during the Great Depression .

The Bung Tomo class is a class of three Indonesian multi-role corvettes or 'multi-role light frigate' (MRLF) bought from Brunei by Indonesia. [5] [6] They were originally built for the Royal Brunei Navy (RBN; Malay: Tentera Laut Diraja Brunei, TLDB), and named Nakhoda Ragam-class corvettes, but were ultimately bought by Indonesia and subsequently renamed.
