Romsey / ˈ r ɒ m z i / is a town in the local government area of the Shire of Macedon Ranges in the state of Victoria, Australia. The town is 61 kilometres (38 mi) north of Melbourne . As of the 2021 Census, Romsey had a population of 4,934.

The first municipal building in the town was a medieval structure in the Market Place which was described latterly as "a small old house in bad repair". [1] In the 17th century civic leaders decided to buy a house at The Hundred and to convert it for use as a town hall and as a lock-up for petty criminals. [2]

Braishfield has a long running football club, who play their home games at the Recreation Ground. Founded in 1907, Braishfield football club run two adult sides in the Southampton League, a 1st team [8] and a reserve team. They also have six boys teams at various age groups in the Test Way Youth League known as the Braishfield bees.
Romsey Extra was a civil parish in the Borough of Test Valley and the English county of Hampshire. At the 2011 census, it had a population of 3,276, although due to the ongoing 800 home Abbotswood development that begun after the census was taken, it was likely to have risen significantly by the next Census and by 50% between 2012 and 2018. In the early 1860s, a group of local businessmen decided to form a private company, known as the "Romsey Corn Exchange Company", to finance and commission a purpose-built corn exchange for the town. [2] The site they selected was a prominent position at the top of The Hundred in a position lying close to the main Market Place. [3]
