Nashua (/ ˈ n æ ʃ ə w ə /) is a city in southern New Hampshire, United States.As of the 2020 census, it had a population of 91,322, [5] the second-largest in northern New England after nearby Manchester.
It was officially unveiled at Nashua's Veterans Day parade on November 11, 1965. [2] The bust was initially situated in the center of Nashua's City Hall Plaza, facing eastward overlooking Main Street. In 2015, following an expansion of the City Hall Plaza, the bust was moved to the south side and now faces north. [4]
This was due to the placement of a new Town Hall in the southern half of the city (which was more populated at the time). [2] [3] The northern contingent split themselves off, calling themselves "Nashville". The split came only six years after the town had renamed itself "Nashua", in 1836. [2]
