Since the 1970s, Driscoll has concentrated on experimental vocal music. She married jazz musician Keith Tippett and collaborated with him and now uses the name Julie Tippetts , adopting the original spelling of her husband's surname.
Brian Auger and the Trinity and Driscoll's joint album, Open, billed as Julie Driscoll, Brian Auger and the Trinity, reached number 12 in the UK Albums Chart the same year. [ 1 ] The group and Driscoll opened for Led Zeppelin at the Rose Palace in Pasadena, California on 2 and 3 May 1969.
Driscoll recorded her first solo album in 1971, titled 1969; one of the musicians was pianist Keith Tippett, whom Driscoll married, taking a version of his name.
