The Simsbury Townhouse was the original town hall for the town of Simsbury, used as a town hall for almost 100 years. It was originally built in 1839 at the top of the hill near its present location, and moved, possibly in 1843, and finally in 1869. The wooden structure was constructed in the Greek Revival style. North Canton Road and West Simsbury Road was established as SR 909 in 1962 as part of the Route Reclassification Act. The following year, SR 909 became a signed route, with the designation Route 309. [ 2 ]
