Paradise is an unincorporated community in northwest Clay County, in the U.S. state of Missouri. [2] The community lies between the two arms of the Smithville Lake on the Little Platte River . The city of Smithville lies across the lake to the southwest.
Smithville Lake is a 7,190-acre (29 km 2) reservoir on the Little Platte branch of the Platte River in Clay County, Missouri near Smithville. It provides the water supply for Smithville, Missouri and Plattsburg, Missouri. Kansas City, Missouri has reserved a portion for its water supply.
Grassy is part of the Cape Girardeau–Jackson, MO-IL Metropolitan Statistical Area. [3] Located just outside Grassy are three campgrounds along the Castor River: Arrowhead Campgrounds, [4] Castor River Park, [5] and Twin Bridges Park.
Edgerton is located along Missouri routes B and Z. The community is 1.5 miles east of the Platte River on Grove Creek. The Smithville Reservoir is about six miles east in adjacent Clinton County. [6] According to the United States Census Bureau, the city has a total area of 1.11 square miles (2.87 km 2), all land. [7]
