Touka, Ayato and Yomo continue their battle against Arima. During their escape from the hallway, Kaneki and Hinami come across Nimura who mockingly fights Kaneki and Hinami, but is defeated quickly when Hinami pierces his chest with her kagune. Kaneki arrives just in time to save Yomo from being killed by Arima.
Intending to consume Kaneki himself, Tsukiyama prepares another trap, using Nishio's human girlfriend Nishino Kimi as a hostage. Kaneki confronts Tsukiyama and is assisted by Nishio and then Touka. They are no match for Tsukiyama as their kagune are not as strong because they do not consume human flesh, so Touka bites Kaneki, restoring her kagune.
Touka rejects Shuu's offer, claiming that she establishes the :re café with the purpose of being a safe haven for Kaneki, but only if he chooses to return by his own will. Meanwhile, Kanae is approached by Eto who offers him a chance to get stronger.
Kaneki walks toward the CCG, carrying Hide's body in his arms, and faces Arima to battle. The next morning, Kaneki, Hide and Amon have vanished along with the other CCG members, leaving only an unharmed Arima, most likely having won against Kaneki, leaving Kaneki's fate unknown. After the credits, it is shown that Touka has opened up a new café.
