The German National Road Race Championship is a cycling race organized by the German Cycling Federation. The event was established in 1910, with the women's championship starting in 1968. No competitions were held in 1914 to 1918, 1926, 1927, 1929 to 1933, 1942 to 1945 and 1973. The winners of each event are awarded with a symbolic cycling jersey.
In East Germany the cycling section of the Deutscher Sportausschuss, the DDR's sports body, was established in 1946. In 1957 it was renamed Deutscher Radsport-Verband der DDR (DRSV), "East German Cycling Federation", which was responsible for the sport until the merger of both countries on 7 December 1990.
The 2023 Deutschland Tour is a men's road cycling stage race which took place from 23 to 27 August 2023. It is the 37th edition of the Deutschland Tour, which is rated as a 2.Pro event on the 2023 UCI ProSeries calendars. [1] This edition is the race's third in the UCI ProSeries.
In March 2016, the Amaury Sport Organisation announced it had signed a 10-year deal with the German Cycling Federation to bring the race back within the next two years. [3] In July the race was confirmed as the Deutschland Deine Tour debuting in 2018, reduced to four stages and relegated to a UCI 2.1 European Tour race. [ 4 ]
