The Miller Analogies Test (MAT) was a standardized test used both for graduate school admissions in the United States and entrance to high I.Q. societies.Created and published by Harcourt Assessment (now a division of Pearson Education), the MAT consisted of 120 questions in 60 minutes (an earlier iteration was 100 questions in 50 minutes).
Scores are given in increments of 10 (e.g. 545, 555, 565, 575, etc.). In 2023, for the GMAT Exam (Focus Edition), the score scale for the exam was adjusted to reflect changes in the test-taking population, which has become more diverse and global. Over the years, scores had shifted significantly, resulting in an uneven distribution.

For example, group tests are administered to many people at once; to test each individual is unrealistic. Group tests are also much easier to score because they are predominantly multiple-choice.
