Concentrations of IDLH atmospheres are measured in parts per million (ppm). Parts Per Million details how much of the chemical is needed as a ratio to air to create an IDLH atmosphere. For example, a 4 ppm IDLH value means that only 4 gallons of the chemical to 1,000,000 gallons of air is needed to create an atmosphere that is IDLH.
