Saraland High School competes in Class 6A of AHSAA. During the 2022 football season, the Spartans saw major success in their football program, winning their first 6A football title in program history. The team had made the title game twice before, but lost to Clay-Chalkville and Pinson Valley, respectively. [2]
Saraland City Schools (SCS) is a school district serving and operated by Saraland, Alabama, United States. The district consists of four schools, Saraland Early Education Center, Saraland Elementary School, Saraland (formerly Adams) Middle School, and Saraland High School .

The Cougars would win their second AHSAA Class 6A football title in 2014 by beating the Saraland Spartans in a competitive 36–31 game at Jordan-Hare Stadium in Auburn, Alabama. [12] The victory capped a 15–0 season which ended with the Cougars being ranked 35th in the nation by Max Preps and being featured on the website's Tour of Champions.

In December 2011 Satsuma, still a county school, had 694 students. After Saraland left the Mobile County system, Satsuma's student enrollment dropped each year from 2008 to 2011. From 2010 to 2011 the enrollment declined by 21%. 2011 was the final year that the county allowed Saraland residents to attend county schools. [7]
