Vighnaharta Ganesh is an Indian television series based on Hindu scriptures revolving around Ganesha. It aired on Sony TV in India from August 2017 to November 2021, and is one of the longest running ancient Hindu TV series in India.
In some versions, the remorseful Vigna was made an attendant of Ganesha, who would trouble those who fail to worship his Lord. Vignasura also requested Ganesha to take the name Vigneshwara (The Lord of Vigna/obstacles) to commemorate the event. Murugan is also said to have worshipped his father Shiva at the site as Parangirinathar. The temple is located 8 kilometres (5.0 mi) from Madurai in India. In the main shrine, apart from Murugan, the deities Shiva, Vishnu, Vinayaka (Ganesha) and Durga are housed. The temple follows Shaiva tradition of worship.
