Junoon (Urdu: جنون transl. Obsession/Passion) is a Pakistani sufi rock band from Lahore, Punjab, Pakistan, and Tappan, New York, formed in 1990. [1] [2] [3]The band is directed by founder, lead guitarist and songwriter, Salman Ahmad, who was soon joined by keyboardist Nusrat Hussain, bass guitarist Brian O'Connell and vocalist Ali Azmat. [4]
Rahat Fateh Ali Khan is a Pakistani singer, who has sung several songs in Pakistan and India, including the Pakistani film and drama industries, as well as Coke Studio and Bollywood. He is a well-known Qawwali singer, and has also sung many national songs and ghazals.
In early 2007, Call released a song named Laree Chotee (sung by Zulfiqar Jabbar Khan) for the Bollywood film titled Ek Chalis Ki Last Local. [3] The song introduced the band to a much diverse audience and a frenzied fan following ensued. Till this day it is a popular public demand at their concert performances.
