Belfast Lanyon Place (formerly Belfast Central) is a railway station serving the city of Belfast in Northern Ireland. Located on East Bridge Street in the Laganside area of central Belfast, it is one of four stations in the city centre, the others being City Hospital , Botanic , and Belfast Grand Central .

The Bangor Line originated with the incorporation of the Belfast, Holywood, and Bangor Railway (BHBR) on June 26, 1846. The first section of the line, running from Belfast to Holywood, opened on August 2, 1848. The line was extended to Bangor on May 1, 1865, and subsequently acquired by the Belfast and County Down Railway (BCDR) in 1884. [3]

In April 1976 Northern Ireland Railways closed both Great Victoria Street [21] and the Belfast Queen's Quay terminus of the Bangor line and replaced them both with a new Belfast Central Station, now renamed Lanyon Place. The remainder of Great Victoria Street station was demolished.
Stations - Belfast Lanyon Place, Botanic, City Hospital, Adelaide, Balmoral, Finaghy, Dunmurry, Derriaghy, Lambeg, Hilden, Lisburn, Moira, Lurgan, Portadown. This line has the potential to be extended from Portadown to Armagh city centre by reopening the railway line.
