Kevin MacLeod was born in Green Bay, Wisconsin in 1972. [2] He began piano lessons at a young age: "as a 4-year old or whatever it was". [3] He attended the University of Wisconsin–Green Bay (UWGB), where he initially studied electrical engineering; however, amid a distaste for chemistry requirements, he switched to music education after his first month.
The song was released as the first single from their fourth studio album Suck It and See and was released as a digital download on 12 April 2011. [5] On 16 April, a "limited-edition white-label seven-inch vinyl version" was released followed by the formal release "on standard seven – and 10-inch vinyl single formats" on 30 May. [6]
The song was released via MP3 digital download and 7" vinyl with the song "Evil Twin" appearing as a B-side. It is one of the rare instances that a B-side for a single has charted higher than the single itself on release due to downloads, with "Suck It and See" reaching number 149 and "Evil Twin" reaching number 114 on the UK Singles Chart.
The music video for the single debuted on Channel 4 in the UK on 15 October 2009.. The music video, directed by Richard Ayoade, who worked on the videos of "Fluorescent Adolescent", "Crying Lightning" and their At the Apollo DVD, shows frontman Alex Turner singing the song alone in a white room holding a cassette recorder and microphone during the whole video. "Brick by Brick" is a song by Arctic Monkeys from the band's fourth album Suck It and See. The song was the first track to be revealed from the album, on 4 March 2011, and was designed as a teaser for the album rather than a lead single. [4]
