The Dequindre Cut is a below-grade pathway, formerly a Grand Trunk Western Railroad line, [1] located on the east side of Detroit, Michigan, just west of St. Aubin Street. Much of the Cut has been converted to a greenway ; the colorful graffiti along the pathway has been left in place.
Dequindre is the boundary between Oakland and Macomb counties. [6] [7] Now following the Wayne–Macomb county line, M-102 separates Warren from Detroit. The highway also runs parallel to, and about a half mile (0.8 km) north of Outer Drive, [6] [7] the original beltway highway proposed in 1918 to encircle Detroit. [10]
Hazel Park was originally laid out in a grid from 1900 to 1925. East-west streets ran from Dequindre Road to Hilton Road on the western edge of the city (now the independent city of Ferndale); and north-south streets ran from Nine Mile Road to Woodward Heights Boulevard.
