Following the creation of Enugu State in 1991 and the subsequent change of the name of the university to Enugu State University of Science and Technology, Hon, Justice Anthony Aniagolu was appointed the pro-chancellor and chairman of the governing council with Prof. Julius Onuorah Onah as the vice chancellor (1992 – 1996) [citation needed].
The University of Nigeria, commonly referred to as UNN, is a federal and public research university located in Nsukka, Enugu State, Eastern part of Nigeria. Founded in 1955 by Nnamdi Azikiwe [ 5 ] [ 6 ] [ 7 ] who was the Governor General of Nigeria between 1960 and 1963, [ 8 ] and first President of Nigeria between 1963 and 1966. [ 9 ]
