Usually megacolon cats also have harder drier stools and require a stool softner alongside the Cisapride. Miralax is a wonderful stool softner. Lactulose is a stool softner as well but I have had much better success with the Miralax. Miralax is a odourless/tastelss powder you can add to the cats canned food to eat.

I don't I'll keep doing that, though, for various reasons. Unfortunately, some of the foods mentioned here that don't have carrageenan or guar gum -- the Weruva slide 'n' serve and the Wholehearted -- may have other objectionable ingredients. The Weruva has potato (which adds carbs and makes some cats vomit) as well as two other kinds of gums.

My cat (15 years old) has recurring anal gland problems without the right food. Our solution was to add in extra fiber. 33. Purraise. 10. Trying to find out which brands, ideally ones that can be bought at a grocery store, are lowest in phosphorous. Looking for foods my boyfriend's cat can eat to help her with her possible kidney problems. I also hear fish should be avoided for cats with kidney issues.
