The U34CH is a 3,600 hp (2,700 kW) passenger diesel locomotive built by General Electric between 1970 and 1973. In total, 33 U34CH units were built; 32 were built for the New Jersey Department of Transportation and operated by the Erie Lackawanna Railway and, later, Conrail, with the last unit coming as a later rebuild of a GE U30C for the New York MTA.

Marking the return of Oldsmobile to the full-size station wagon segment, the Custom Cruiser was initially slotted above the intermediate Oldsmobile Vista Cruiser, ultimately above the later mid-size Oldsmobile Cutlass Cruiser.
The Vista hatchback and sedans were available with either a 1.5 L 4G15 straight-4 (69 hp or 51 kW), or a 1.6L turbocharged 4G32 (106 hp or 79 kW), and was available with either a 4 or 5-speed manual or a 3-speed automatic transmission. [1] The turbo hatchback came in the GT equipment level, turbo sedans were called LX and carried taller gearing.
