Chrome extension to see Rate My Professors ratings in ASU class search A year ago we created ASU Professor Ratings, a chrome extension to show RMP ratings directly in ASU class searches. This community has driven the majority of our traffic and we are extremely happy that so many of you have found the extension helpful when signing up for classes.
My experience has been that even a 2.5 or higher is usually a pretty decent professor, the ones i tend to get leery of are the ones with sub 2 ratings. Even then I spend a lot of time reading the written comments to see if i can understand why someone would rate the professor the way they did. If i think their reasoning is dumb I’ll take a ...
Rate My Professor never depreciates old ratings. At least when I had him 2ish years ago, he was a really solid professor. Kicked kids out for being on their phones, which IMO is 100% fair, but other than that just taught really dang well. Maybe he's worse now, but Rate My Professors doesn't only consider recent reviews.
A few months ago we unveiled ASU Professor Ratings, a chrome extension to show RMP ratings directly in ASU class searches. We've made a bunch of updates based on the feedback we got here in the past few months. Since the new fall schedule is out, we thought we would post again to remind anyone that's interested.
But with CSE 360 I am glad when class is cancelled because it is such a worthless class because of the terrible quality and complete incompetence of the professor. I've never had a class as bad at ASU, absolutely the worst. I expect more from ASU, and am frankly disappointed in Calliss.
Best: Ian Gould (CHM233/234), Marcia Levitus (BCH341/CHM598). Two professors who shaped my career as a (bio)chemist. Gould really cares about his students and makes organic chemistry highly accessible. My mans literally created his own free homework site that is not graded based on accuracy. Tons of practice for the exam, and was always accessible.
You can do so by right clicking > inspect element > sources > content scripts > ASU Professor Ratings > js > content_script.js when on a search results page with the extension running. From there, it should be obvious that the only information we get from the page is the name of each professor and the class they're teaching (e.g. John Smith ...
I find that students that use Rate My Professor for easy courses/instructors find it difficult navigating 300/400 level courses since the foundational knowledge from 100/200 level courses may not be as established. Please feel free to DM if your looking for resources that ASU provides in being successful in your courses!
ECN231 with Jeffrey Wilson. I failed an exam (and got the lowest exam grade in the class), the next class he said something along the lines of “wow whoever got a 50% clearly doesn’t care about this class.” … I emailed him letting him know that I do care and that I do try my best in class everyday. He never replied to my email.
Teacher randomly swapped to Gary adams so I’m trying to get a diff teacher. My options are Arlinda hill, Arunima Singh, Quan Qing, and Robert Kaindl. Should I choose another one or stick with adams? I looked on rate my professor but just want to make extra sure. Update: I chose Singh since they had the highest rate my prof score I think.
