I downloaded the solitaire selection from the Microsoft Store. I cannot find where to change the options for the spider solitaire game??? Let me see if I can't help here - Microsoft has essentially replaced what would be done through a menu in Windows 7 with doing the same thing through the charms bar in Windows 8. Try this:

I had reached Spider level 787, with no change in title since level 100, when my tablet failed about a month ago. When I next signed in on my new laptop I was at level 786 and 'Gold Grandmaster 9'. I have since reached level 1001 (937 grandmaster difficulty and 2 random 4 suit victories, 0 losses) with no subsequent change in title.

After checking out the diff deck designs and colors I decided I want the original/default deck back, the others are too distracting. But there is no option for going back from the "Game" - "Change Appearance" drop down option. Can I go back to the original deck, if so, how? Thanks

If you are refering to the actual size of the cards, it changes automatically with the size of the game's window. Just drag the border to adjust to the size you want.There is also something called "Large Print Deck", which can be changed by clicking "Game", then "Change Appearance". From there you can select a card deck and click "OK"
The statistical probability of getting three or more of the same denomination cards in a 10-card deal of 4-deck spider solitaire is pretty small, but it happens with great frequency in the game.
