DeKalb (/ d ɪ ˈ k æ l b / dih-KALB) is a city in DeKalb County, Illinois, United States. The population was 40,290 at the 2020 census . The city is named after decorated Franconian -French war hero Johann de Kalb , who died during the American Revolutionary War .
The DuPage Valley Conference (DVC) is an organization of six high schools in northeastern Illinois, representing seven communities in Chicago's suburbs. These high schools are all members of the Illinois High School Association. The Conference, organized in 1975, exists primarily for inter-school athletic competition in 21 sports.

DeKalb Township is one of nineteen townships in DeKalb County, Illinois, USA. As of the 2020 census, its population was 42,667 and it contained 18,004 housing units. [ 2 ] DeKalb Township was originally named Orange Township, but was renamed on November 20, 1850.
DeKalb County United was founded in 2017 by DeKalb area natives. [1] The club was established in order to unite the communities of DeKalb County and surrounding areas through soccer. Though the club is relatively new to the area, its members, fans, and staff have been dedicated to making an impact both on the pitch, and in their local community.
As of the 2020 census [2] there were 5,527 people, 2,168 households, and 1,502 families residing in the township. The population density was 152.94 inhabitants per square mile (59.05/km 2).
As part of Northern Illinois, DeKalb County was a stronghold for the Free Soil Party in its early elections – being among nine Illinois counties to support Martin Van Buren in 1848 – and became overwhelmingly Republican for the century following that party's formation.
