Yup, Resurrection has the least content of the 3, but decent boss fights Lmtsr has a lot of optional content, a lot of them can be pretty bs, but the thing is like about it is that it give you the tools to balance out those contents; the mod incentivize using prosthetic and combat arts and items more rather than just deflecting.
Firstly, I modified an existing mod called Sekiro Blood Borne, so I used that file's gameparam, but you can use a different gameparam file. How to do basic modding. Download Mod engine Open Mod Engine. Drag dinput8 and modengine.ini into the Sekiro directory. Create a folder called "mods" in Sekiro directory. Drag files into mods folder.
For visual mods I recommend any that retextures the swords, I’m currently using one that replaces Kusabimaru with Ishins Ashina’s sword and one that makes the mortal blade glow. Keep in mind that some old retextures may break the Sakura dance combat art. I also have fps unlocker to play the game in borderless and auto loot fallen enemies.
It's been a while since i modded Sekiro but i can try. Have you downloaded the mod engine? Usually simple mods should just be a matter of putting the folders on the "mods" folder after putting modengine stuff in the files if i recall correctly. Be sure to put the contents themselves and not the mod folder as a whole. Folders like "parts" or ...
For example spEffectParam.param file has data related to skill effects such Ako sugar buff duration etc. If you wanna merge two mods that don't modify the same param files, you first unpack the .dcx of both mods and then replace the param files from one to another then use yabber again on the folder to repack it back into a .dcx file.
Sekiro Resurrection is fantastic, although, unfortunately, incomplete. I still recommend it, I'm currently playing through a new game with the mod and it's crazy how new and fresh the game feels. Bloody Wolf of Ashina is a must.
Recoil Counter and Bullet Reflect feels like what'd be in Sekiro 2, and these two abilities alone would make me download it in a pinch. It feels like playing Sekiro again, and god helps you when you add the weapon wheel mod in as well, the combat instantly grows much skillful. Rank 1.

Don't worry about it being one of those 'hard for the sake of being hard' mods either, it's all very fair and designed to be realistically beatable without needing all the consumables and prosthetics under the sun. Not naming any names there, LMTSR.
Sekiro is the first game I ever used a mod for, as it is easily the hardest for me since deflects are mandatory and you to take so much fucking damage from mistakes, AND there's no leveling or equipment so you're basically the same the whole time until you start up-ing your damage and hp (which really isn't much).
