Old Faithful. Visit the Old Faithful Webcam for next eruption time. Old Faithful was named by the first official expedition to Yellowstone, the Washburn Expedition of 1870. They were impressed by its size and frequency. Old Faithful erupts every 35 to 120 minutes for 1 1/2 to 5 minutes.
Steamboat Geyser is the world’s tallest active geyser. Its major eruptions shoot water more than 300 feet (91 m). In Yellowstone National Park’s recorded history, only two other geysers have exceeded Steamboat in size: Excelsior Geyser in Midway Geyser Basin and Sapphire Pool in Biscuit Basin.
