Anne W. Patterson was nominated as United States Ambassador to Pakistan in May 2007, replacing Ryan C. Crocker who was appointed United States Ambassador to Iraq after completing three years of service in Pakistan. In 2010, her post was succeeded by Cameron Munter. The American ambassador is based in the U.S. Embassy, Islamabad.

[a] It operates under the U.S. embassy in Islamabad and serves U.S. consular interests in the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa region. The current consul-general is William Martin, appointed in 2012. [1]
On 19 January 1955, Mexico and Pakistan established diplomatic relations. [1] In May 1974, Pakistan opened an embassy in Mexico City. In 2007, Mexico opened an embassy in Islamabad, however, due to budget restraints, the embassy closed in 2009 and in its place, honorary consulates were opened in Karachi and Lahore. [1]
