The PNR East West line, or MRT Line 8, is a proposed rapid transit line in Metro Manila in the Philippines, generally running in an east–west direction along the Radial Road 7 and a portion of the Radial Road 8. The line serves 11 stations on 9.4 kilometers (5.8 mi) of line.
The first train service was the Baguio Special (Spanish: Manila a Baguio Especial, lit. 'Manila–Baguio Special' [43]). It was inaugurated in 1911 and was the country's first flagship service. The train initially stopped in Pangasinan until the line was later extended to Damortis station in Santo Tomas, La Union. [44]
Its 38 stations along over 43.5 kilometers (27.0 mi) of mostly elevated track form two lines. LRT Line 1, opened in 1984, travels a north–south route. LRT Line 2, opened in 2003, travels along an east–west route. All of the stations of LRT lines 1 and 2 are elevated, except for the Katipunan station (which is underground). [64]

Balagtas station is an under-construction elevated North–South Commuter Railway (NSCR) station located in Balagtas, Bulacan, Philippines. [1] The station was part of the Philippine National Railways (PNR) North Main Line before its closure in the 1980s. [2] It was also the terminus of the defunct Balagtas–Cabanatuan line. [3]
