Company B resulted from the music trend of producer-driven girl groups in the late 1980s and early 1990s, most successfully the group Exposé. Company B's first single "Fascinated" was released in 1986 on the independent label The Summer. She was the first Latina to appear on the cover of Spin Magazine.
