Futura Condensed is a condensed version of the original Futura font family. Bold and bold oblique fonts were released in 1930. Medium, medium oblique, extra bold, and extra bold oblique fonts were released in 1936. Light and light oblique fonts were released in 1950.

It was created as a competitor to the successful Futura typeface for Monotype's hot metal typesetting system. Like Futura it has a single-story 'a' and a straight 'j' with no bend. I ran across it when trying to find out what fonts showed up in the bottle and equipment labels in old educational science films. One notable use is by Moog synthesizers. They were the first real synthesizers and still a very popular US-based brand. Moog synths use Futura, Futura Bold, and Futura Condensed on their front panels.
