All medical colleges until 1986 were established by the government. Currently, there are 37 public medical colleges, these provide 5380 seats every year for students undertaking MBBS. While the 68 private medical colleges provide 6040 seats. 6 colleges are run by Bangladesh Armed Forces which offer 375 seats.

This is a list of Colleges in Bangladesh. The syllabus most common in usage is the National Curriculum and Textbooks, which has two versions, a Bengali version and an English version. Edexcel and Cambridge syllabus are also used for most of the English-medium schools.
Brahmanbaria Medical College is the only medical college in the district recognized by the Bangladesh Medical and Dental Council. [4] Located in Ghatura, Brahmanbaria, it is a private institution. Instruction began in 2013.
In 1984, the college was nationalized and the word government added to the name. [6] In September 2005, the president of the college unit of the Jatiyatabadi Chhatra Dal was gunned down in the college.
