In the U.S. state of Missouri both state parks and state historic sites are administered by the Division of State Parks of the Missouri Department of Natural Resources. As of 2017 the division manages a total of 92 parks and historic sites plus the Roger Pryor Pioneer Backcountry , which together total more than 200,000 acres (81,000 ha). [ 1 ]
Klondike Park was originally a silica sand quarry, but was restored to natural condition by St. Charles County Parks. One unique feature of the park is the powdery white silica sand. This substance was mined to be blown into glass when the park was still an operating silica mine.
It is named for author Mark Twain, a Missouri native. The MTNF covers 3,068,800 acres (12,419 km 2) of which 1,506,100 acres (6,095 km 2) is public owned, 78,000 acres (320 km 2) of which are Wilderness, and National Scenic River area. MTNF spans 29 counties and represents 11% of all forested land in Missouri.
The state parks offers camping, a 100-acre (40 ha) lake for fishing and swimming, a 3.8-mile (6.1 km) asphalt bicycling and walking trail that follows the shoreline of the lake, and a separate 3.5-mile (5.6 km) equestrian trail.

He would later produce records for Chet Atkins, Dolly Parton, Waylon Jennings, and many others. He was born in Willow Springs in 1927.
Meramec State Park is a public recreation area located near Sullivan, Missouri, about 60 miles from St. Louis, along the Meramec River. [4] The park has diverse ecosystems such as hardwood forests and glades. There are over 40 caves located throughout the park, the bedrock is dolomite. The most famous is Fisher Cave, located near the campgrounds.
