Houston Community College, also known as the Houston Community College System (HCCS), is a community college that operates community colleges in Houston, Missouri City, Greater Katy, and Stafford in Texas. It is notable for actively recruiting internationally and for the large number of international students enrolled, over 5,700 in 2015.
Initially, the campus offered only night courses. [3] Its first session began March 7, 1927, with an enrollment of 232 students and 12 faculty. The institution would later expend on September 19, 1927, to allow all persons having completed the necessary educational requirements to enroll.

Missouri City always had an HCC campus in the vicinity; the current campus opened in August 2008 located in the Sienna Springs subdivision off Highway 6, replacing the former Missouri City Center located at the intersection of Cartwright Road and Texas Parkway.
The college has five main campuses and six extension centers. The Central campus is in Pasadena, the North and South campuses are in Houston on Uvalde Road and Beamer Road near the intersection of FM 1959 respectively. The maritime campus is located in La Porte. The college opened its fifth campus at Generation Park in Houston in 2020.
The HCC Northline Campus is located near the grounds of Northline Commons shopping center. The campus opened in 2008, replacing the Northline Mall Center when the declining mall (where classes were formerly held) was demolished.
