Carroll County is a county located in the northern part of the U.S. state of Kentucky. Its county seat is Carrollton. [1] The county was formed in 1838 and named for Charles Carroll of Carrollton, the last living signer of the Declaration of Independence. [2] It is located at the confluence of the Kentucky and Ohio Rivers.

Carrollton is a home rule-class city [4] in—and the county seat of—Carroll County, Kentucky, United States, [5] at the confluence of the Ohio and Kentucky rivers. The population was 3,938 at the 2010 census. [6]
Eagle Creek, on the county line, flows past the southern border of the town and joins the Kentucky River less than 1 mile (1.6 km) to the southwest. Owen County is to the south across the creek. Exit 44 of Interstate 71 is 4 miles (6 km) to the northwest along Kentucky Route 227, and Carrollton, the county seat, is 8 miles (13 km) to the northwest.
