Chesapeake Public Schools (CPS), also known as Chesapeake City Public Schools, is the school division that administers public education in the United States city of Chesapeake, Virginia. The superintendent is Dr. Jared A. Cotton. On July 27, 2020, the division school board voted a 100% online start to the 2020–21 school year.
The school borders the school districts of Kenwood High School, Sparrows Point High School, Dundalk High School, and Patapsco High School. Widely known for its Virtual Lab and MCJROTC program. It was the second school to be constructed in Norfolk County from funds provided by the General Assembly for public education. The one-room school was across from the present day Deep Creek Intermediate School. The school was closed and destroyed by federal troops during the Civil War. In 1870, a school was erected on Old Gilmerton Road.
