A leap week calendar is a calendar system with a whole number of weeks in a year, and with every year starting on the same weekday. The xiuhpōhualli (year count) system of the Aztec calendar had five intercalary days after the eighteenth and final month, the nēmontēmi, in which the people fasted and reflected on the past year.
