L.A. residents and proto-grunge band Melvins have played the Troubador numerous times, including live tapings for Carson Daly in 2012 and 2015. The club features in the 1972 film Cisco Pike.
Alexander Douglas Weston (December 13, 1926 – February 14, 1999) was an American nightclub owner, known as the owner of The Troubadour nightclub in Los Angeles which in the 1960s and 1970s was particularly responsible for promoting many successful singer-songwriters in the early stages of their careers.
Neil Young recorded the live album Roxy: Tonight's The Night Live on September 20–22, 1973. The album was released in April 2018. Nine songs from Bruce Springsteen & the E Street Band's Live/1975-85 album were recorded at the Roxy from shows on October 18-19, 1975 and July 7, 1978.
