Voegele began working on her debut album in Fall of 2006, shortly after signing with the label. She released her official debut studio album, Don't Look Away, on May 22, 2007. [24] [25] Don't Look Away debuted at number 63 on the Billboard 200, selling 10,000 copies in its first week of release. It went on to sell over 250,000 copies.
Voegele first announced plans for a new album in 2008, while promoting her debut album, Don't Look Away. Between this announcement and the album's release, several songs were previewed and released. Three promotional singles were released from the album, including "Angel", "Lift Me Up", and "Sweet Silver Lining".
