Omaha architect Henry Voss designed the complex for the Anheuser-Busch Brewing Association of St. Louis, Missouri in 1887. Once covering more than a block, today the Anheuser-Busch Office Building is the only remaining structure of what was the original Krug Brewery , the largest brewery among Omaha's original "Big 4" brewers.
Fremont Brewing is a brewery located in the West Woodland area of the Ballard neighborhood of Seattle, Washington, United States, with a taproom and beer garden located in the Fremont neighborhood. [ 1 ] [ 2 ] The brewery creates small-batch artisan beers and was founded in 2009 by Sara Nelson and Matt Lincecum. [ 3 ]
Fremont, in Dodge County, Nebraska, was designated a micropolitan area. The Omaha–Fremont Combined Statistical Area has a population of 1,058,125 (2020 estimate). [3] [4] [5] Approximately 1.5 million people reside within the Greater Omaha area, within a 50 mi (80 km) radius of Downtown Omaha.
Omaha also has a long history as a regional beer center, with the Krug, Storz, Metz Brewery and Willow Springs Brewery forming the city's "Big 4" breweries. The Old Market in downtown Omaha includes more than 30 restaurants in this six-block historic district . [ 22 ]
Between 2000 and 2005 Omaha's job growth was 0.70 percent. In 2006 the sales tax rate was seven percent, with income tax at 6.68 percent. That same year the median family income was $56,869, with a 1.80 percent housing price gain. [3]
At the time this new brewery was one of the largest and most modern of its kind. Its capacity was reported to be 150,000 barrels per year and they employed approximately 500 men. [5] Krug led his company in Omaha for almost 50 years, and was responsible for founding Omaha's Krug Park in 1904. The city of Omaha named a street after him. [6]
